Reason  for signing up to Ambition to Action
With the potential to increase productivity and associated capacity, while undertaking more complex assignments for clients – such as the use of foil, embossing, laminates, holograms and varnish – the Company recognised the advantage of the Ambition To Action programme in being able to tap into external support.,

Specialist support
An initial meeting with Eastbourne-based Business Adviser, Robin Simpson of Oxford Innovation, enabled him to utilise their diagnostic software tools GROWTHmapper and Growth Canvas. This identified some key actions to support continuing growth, including work with local Specialist, Dave Barr of RLB Purchasing Consultancy, who guided the business in the application of ‘5S’ principles to improve their production processes.

Impact of the support
Managing Director, Andreas Schiilinger affirmed that the support given

“provided us with exactly what we needed to improve our processes.” The Company has already seen an increase in efficiencies, as the design and manufacturing process has been streamlined”.

Wider benefits to the economy
Expanding the skillset and flexibility of the workforce, such as in being able to carry out more intricate work for clients, is helping to raise skill levels in the local area and should attract more revenue into the region as the national customer base of Lotus Labels increases.
